Let's Create Something That's Truly Yours
Some people know exactly what they want. Others have a feeling, a memory, a half-formed idea they can't quite put into words. Either way, you're in the right place — because my favorite part of this whole job is sitting down with you and drawing that vision out into the open.
After 15 years in the advertising world, I learned how to ask the right questions: What's this really about? Who's it for? What do you want to feel every time you walk past it? Then I take everything you give me — and as a classically trained painter with hundreds of commissions behind me, I bring it to life in my signature joyful, high-vibration color, on reclaimed materials like cabinet doors, corrugated tin, or street signs (indoor or out). The result is something we made together, that you couldn't have found anywhere else.
There's no such thing as "too wild."
I've painted four seasons marching across a single piece of metal — mountains, flowers, butterflies, and birds, left to right. An octopus in colors you've never seen on an octopus. A flock of chickens performing as rock stars on stage, for a mom whose son raises chickens and plays in a cover band. A wall of portraits for a California fiduciary who wanted to honor the very clients he looks after. And a mother moose with her two calves, recreating an afternoon a client once spent watching them in Alaska — so she can return to that moment every single day.
That's the magic of a commission: it's not just a painting, it's your story, made permanent and joyful.
Here's how we'll create yours:
Size and prices:
12" x 12" = $475
16" x 20" = $750
20" x 24" = $875
24" x 30" = $1500
30" x 36" = $2500
Yes, I can paint bigger than these sizes. I love painting big! Please reach out for custom sizes and pricing.
Plus approximately $65-$100 for packing, shipping, and insurance.
Simply push the "Add to Cart" button above with the $200 deposit.
I will email a balance invoice when the commission is completed to your 100% satisfaction.
Photos: Email me your favorite jpgs with the photographs as clear as possible. Do not have a photo? No problem! Just give me a detailed description of what you would like me to create!
Time frame: is 30 days approximately from when I receive a down payment, jpg, etc.
Feeling of the Painting: Feel free to share any adjectives that describe the feel of the painting you are wanting (fun, sophisticated, silly, regal, etc.) Some people email photos of the wall it will hang or other art in the room, etc.
Surfaces: My focus is reclaimed materials with cabinet doors or corrugated tin available almost all the time. Traditional gallery wrapped canvas where the painting goes over the sides is also available.
Start Date: Once deposit and photo(s) are received I am officially hired.
Will I see the painting before you finish? About halfway through the commission piece I will email a photo so you can make any changes or suggestions.
"Meg Harper is one of the most talented artists I have met, and the number of commissioned pieces I've ordered is proof of that talent. I met her about 10 years ago at her exhibit in Scottsdale, AZ and was fascinated by her use of discarded materials. Since then I've ordered portraits of both animals and clients — animals on the wavy metal, clients on old cabinetry. The latter is telling of my elderly or disabled clients who may have been discarded or forgotten. I had to replace two pieces, and Meg got the work done quickly and to the same quality. While I mainly commission pieces with her, I love seeing her passion with other subjects. I wish I had more wall space!"
